This workshop is relevant both to people who will conduct systematic reviews and to those
who will use knowledge from published systematic reviews. It provides participants with an
understanding of the systematic review process and the steps required to critically appraise
systematic reviews.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

Understanding how to
• Search for existing systematic reviews
• Critical appraisal of systematic reviews
• Formulate the question to conduct a systematic review
• Determine the eligibility criteria
• Identify studies for inclusion
• Data extraction
• Assessing trial quality
• Statistical analyses including basic methods of meta-analysis
• Heterogeneity & Subgroup analyses
• Reporting and updating of systematic reviews
