Consultant Endocrinologist Prof. Donal O’Shea came to Sligo on Thursday October 3rd 2013 to deliver a talk on weight management and prevention of obesity in children. The meeting was organised by the Research & Education Foundation in conjunction with the Paediatric Dept and the Dietetic Dept at Sligo Regional Hospital.
The event attracted a huge amount of interest and there was a lively debate after the talk. Annette Lalor of the dietetic dept gave some practical ideas for school lunches. The event was chaired by Consultant Paediatrician Dara Gallagher and sponsored by the health promotion department at HSE West.
